The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus
We Adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. Because by your holy cross and resurrection, you have redeemed the world. When Jesus died on the cross, it symbolized the finishing. But the finishing of what really? When Jesus died on the cross, everyone was forgiven, everyone even the people in the future! Jesus wanted us to be with God for the rest of time.
Here can be the sad part. We need to reflect deeper on Jesus dying on the cross as it can help us give a better relationship with Him. We need to look beyond the statement "Jesus died for us because he loves us." We can take the love He gives for granted and instead abuse it. As a teenager, I am honestly somebody who can abuse His love. I usually think in my head "Oh, I know that even though what I'm doing is bad, Jesus will still love me." Our vision on His love can be shallow at times. By, relating your life to the death of Jesus on the cross can probably deepen it.
Let us ask ourselves the following questions : Am I somebody who does bad things because I can and know He will forgive me? Am I really thankful that Jesus was willing to go to death for me? Am I really expressing my love for Him? If not, what can I do?
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for still loving me despite my sins. I usually underestimate Your love and I am sorry. Please help me recognize more about Your love for me despite these problems I'm going through, and please help me to express my love for You. I am thankful for Your everlasting love.
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom,
the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
Amen.
